The way Ripple charts what parts of the world a story is spreading to and not who is spreading it allows a clearer picture of where the story is impacting people instead of a simple quantitative approach that focuses on volume. Its a novel addition that adds a much needed element to traditional news apps. Also, the focus on content over user is a welcomed shift.

Im a huge news junkie, I use about a dozen different news apps and am an avid snapchat, Twitter and Instagram user. Ripple is I think has the potential to be better than all of these. I really love the ability to see the news from around my neighborhood as well as search for news about where Im about to travel to next . I like the act of Rippling something, makes me feel like I have an impact on what the world reads. Next step for me is to create some stories myself!

I am pleasantly surprised by the interesting stories I find here, both for San Francisco and global cities I like to keep up on such as Singapore, Bangkok and KL to name a few. I like being able to Save the locations, kinda like having a news feed for the cities I am interested in. Overall a cool app and I am surprisingly more informed than I used to be. Take that.. apathy!

The app is way simpler now, and I really like the focus on cities around the world. I have lived in 3 major cities (1 US, 2 in Asia), and love keeping up on what is happening in these places. I prefer the weird and fun stuff over the serious news, but the app has a good balance of content so I do not get too bored on things like politics etc. I also like reading about cities I visit or want to visit, because the app also has stuff like new restaurants opening, cool stuff to check out. Overall really informative and slick.

I have always been able to read what is going on different parts of the world as if I were a local. Ripple delivers this experience seamlessly! Thanks.
